Operation Christmas Child

What an awesome opportunity that we have to bless someone else. Operation Christmas Child gives us an opportunity to do something special for someone we may never meet, but who will think the world of us. At Kids Camp we watched a short DVD about what we can do, and honestly it’s not hard. All you need to do is decide if you want to buy for a girl or a boy, and an age, then fills a box with all sorts of pressies that you think they would love. If you don’t know what that age group likes, take one of the kids in your corps shopping and get them to help you pick what to fill your shoe box with. Make the box special, wrap it in Christmas paper, send them a letter from you, or a photo of you and your family or pets. This Christmas Pressie may be the only pressie they will ever receive.

Kimberley has sent out to each corps a pamphlet about Operation Christmas Child. She will also be sending each corps a DVD and details of collection points of where you can drop off the boxes that your corps family fills.

Take up the challenge, let’s see how many boxes we as the Southern Division can do!

Soul Purpose

You may or may not be getting it regularly, but why not check out Soul Purpose! Formed as an incorporated charitable trust in August 1998, Soul Purpose represents a bunch of people committed to reaching young people throughout New Zealand (and the world) with the message of hope through Jesus.

With their print magazine, website, E-Zine, and through generally being nice people, they aim to present this message in a life changing, culture influencing, and relevant way. Officially, they’re a non-profit youth media organisation. We’re also fans of chocolate brownies, mango chutney and storytelling.
